Where do the lessons take place?We are located on the 2nd Floor of 77 Duke Street in Cambridge. Our lessons are also available online.

Do the students need to bring resources?We supply all the resources. Primary level students take home their workbooks which allows parents/caregivers the opportunity to share what they are studying. Years 9 to 13 work with what they are doing in class and support the material at their level.

How long is each lesson?1 hour. Most students have one or two lessons a week.

What lesson times are available?Monday 2.30pm to 7.30pm Tuesday 2.30pm to 6.30pm Wednesday 9.00am to 1.00pm & 2.30pm - 6.30pm Thursday 2:30pm to 6:30pm

What is the Tutor / Student ratio?Years 3 to 10 have a 2-student to 1-tutor ratio unless arrangements have been made. Years 11 to 13 have a 1-student to 1-tutor ratio only.

Each student is working with the NZ Curriculum. Does Action Tutoring support this?Absolutely. All resources used are supported by the NZ Curriculum.

Am I able to choose a lesson slot?We endeavor to work with you to choose a lesson time for the term that suits.

What is the cost?Years 3 to 10 are $55 for 2-students to 1-tutor $70 for one-to-one lessons. $80 for short-term lessons and exam prep. We work with the Xero accounting system. Accounts will be sent out at the beginning of each term, to be paid weekly.

Is there any financial assistance available?For parents with limited incomes, we are approved tutors for the Mathematics for a Lifetime Charitable Trust who help subsidise tutoring for students. Get in touch with us to find out more or visit their website for information at https://www.mfal.org.nz

How long is the tutoring period?Students are booked for a whole term or the remainder of, students are automatically booked for the following term unless otherwise instructed by the parents.

How many lessons are recommended?We strongly recommend your child attend each week to maintain momentum and progress with their learning.
